Fair with some Exception

One of the earliest British structures in Ahmedabad is the Irish Presbyterian Mission School, or IP Mission School as it is more commonly known. The Gujarat Christian Society is in charge of several organizations in Gujarat, including the school.
In 1863, the Irish Presbyterian Mission arrived in Ahmedabad. Dr. Glasgow, who had been in India since roughly 1840, served as its leader. The IP Mission School was built by Himmatlal Dhirajram Bhachech, the engineer in charge of the steel work on the Ellis Bridge. The school features Gothic windows and a primarily European design. It features some exquisite wooden accents.

The Irish Presbyterian Church commissioned Alexander Kerr and James Glasgow in 1840 for missionary work in Gujarat. They arrived in Bombay in 1841 and reached Kathiawar Peninsula. They set up mission offices in Porbandar and Ghogha by 1843. When London Missionary Society closed its mission in Surat in 1847, the IP mission took over the church. It restarted it work in Ahmedabad in 1863. The mission established the first Christian village in Gujarat, Khashivadi near Borsad, in 1847.
